Computer Tomography scans (CT) are performed to analyze the internal structures of various parts of the body including the head, where traumatic injuries (such as blood clots or skull fractures), tumors and infections can be identified. Mesquite Diagnostics offers a 16 multislice CT scanner with the latest software technology.
Depending on the specific CT exam your physician has requested, you may be directed to drink a liquid contrast agent that would require a waiting period before your exam. You should be given complete instructions prior to arriving. Patients may also need to have IV contrast in addition to oral contrast for certain CT examinations.
We also ask that you please bring a list of current medications you are taking with you for this exam, along with a detailed history of allergies.
